POSTPONED- Scarborough Centre Youth Forum

Out of an abundance of caution, the Youth Forum is postponed in light of COVID-19 until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.

We know our youth are smart and full of ideas to make our community better. That is why I am hosting the inaugural Scarborough Centre Youth Forum this March. I want to provide our young leaders with a platform to share their thoughts on several key issues including education, employment, safety, climate change, community engagement, mental health, skills training, racism and discrimination.

The Forum will include round table discussions, presentations, live music by R.I.S.E. Edutainment, a dance performance by Simply Swagg Dance Studio and a mindfulness meditation led by Julien Christian Lutz.

Julien Christian Lutz – professionally known as Director X – is an award-winning director of music videos for Drake, Rihanna, Kanye West, and many more. He is also a filmmaker, an artist, and now a mindfulness advocate, drawing on his own experience with gun violence to head up a movement called Operation Prefrontal Cortex.

Come early to the Forum and the Microsoft team will be available starting at 9:30 AM to give you a free professional photo and to get you started on creating a brand new LinkedIn online profile.

For questions, e-mail councillor_thompson@toronto.ca or call 416-397-9274.
